October 28, was Mom's birthday. We wanted to make it special for her even though she was going to be spending most of the day up at Huntsman for treatment.
We started the morning out with Caramel French Toast with fruit and bacon. Lots of wonderful phone calls were pouring in wishing her a happy birthday before she was off to therapy.
While she was at therapy, Jill was busy making a beautiful dinner for Mom's birthday. She made raviolis, from scratch of course, fresh green beans, green salad, fried chicken, spineta, and much, much more! The table was beautifully decorated as well with Mom's favorite shade of blue. Dinner was wonderful and Mom really enjoyed it. As always, there were lots of laughs and smiles!
Mom's favorite cakes are German Chocolate and Red Cake. Jill made both! We had 68 candles on the German Chocolate cake and we told Mom she needed to blow them out quickly or the cake would burn. Well, before we could get to "birthday" of the first part of the "Happy Birthday" song, she took this huge breath and blew out all the candles all at once! It takes a LOT of hot air to blow out that many candles in one breath! :) Happy Birthday Mom! You are the best! We all love you more than words can say!
