Today Mom and Lizzy wore their matching sequined hats.  It was priceless!
Mom had radiation at 11:00 today.  She got lots of complements on her silver hat.  She definitely stands out with it on.  She decided that if she's going to lose her hair she might as well have fun with it.

Mom told me that she wants to wear bright happy colors and fun accessories so that she can bring some joy and sunshine to those around her.  Her outlook and attitude is so inspiring!  She has remained calm, positive, and peaceful this whole time, still wanting to bring comfort to all those around her no matter how she is feeling physically.

Yesterday and today you could tell she is getting very tired.  She has lost about 60% of her hair so far and is walking much slower and needing to rest more.  This will likely be her most challenging week yet as she finishes the last of her radiation treatments.  The radiation makes you more and more tired the longer you have it, but most people feel much better one to two weeks after they finish their treatment.  I am sure she will be up and at em after a week or two of rest.  On her good days we have to set some limits for her so she doesn't over do it!

This evening Jeff went flew home to Illinois, to take care of some things there.  When they came out here they thought they would only be here for a long weekend.  Now it's been three weeks.

Jeff has been right by Mom's side every minute.  He came back to our place last Monday after Mom's surgery and just wanted to go right back up to the hospital to be with her.  He wanted Mom to be able to sleep well and didn't want to disturb her, and at the same time he just wanted to be near her.  It warms my heart to see just how much he loves her.  We are so blessed to have him!
